“The ‘European Urology Week’ is an event that has been cultivated for several years within the tradition of European urology. Its goal is to raise public awareness regarding the early symptoms, detection methods, and screening for the most common urinary system disorders. The Department of Urology and Urological Oncology of the Pomeranian Medical University has been actively involved for several years in organizing local events aimed at promoting a healthy, active lifestyle and primary cancer prevention. We also showcase the potential of Szczecin’s academic urology in the field of modern diagnostic and treatment methods, with a particular emphasis on minimally invasive and robotic techniques. Additionally, we combat stereotypes associated with cancer, which often delay the reporting of symptoms to a doctor and deny many patients the opportunity for effective therapy. “The SANPROBI URO-RUN 2024πββοΈππββοΈ is a tradition of European Urology Week, which this year will be celebrated from September 23-29. The UroRun will take place earlier, on September 15th (Sunday), so that we can enjoy the sunny weather, have fun together, take care of our health, and learn how to protect ourselves against genitourinary cancers. The event is especially invited by the team from the University Clinical Hospital No. 2 of PUM in Szczecin β it was the urologists from Pomerania who started this ‘uro-tradition’ years ago. And this year, we are running for the eighth time!
We expect several hundred participants for the 5km run and Nordic walking, as well as in various children’s race categories. We’ve prepared numerous attractions for the youngest participants. We also plan to conduct free preventive screenings for men, focusing on testicular cancer.
